Lindsey Brady

Drogheda Port Company announced that its 2008 Annual Arts Commission was awarded to local artist Lindsey Ilona Brady.  This latest commission was open to any artist to create a painting in any size and in any medium on a maritime or port based theme.

A resident of Drogheda Lindsey was working on her Masters Degree in Fine Art at the University of Ulster when she was selected.

On the submission, Lindsey said that her aim is to produce a work of art that "provoke the viewer to question the importance of water(ways) to the town, both personally and economicallyĒ

The triptych which captures images of the water displaced by ships leaving the port can also be seen as "snap shots of moments".  The snap shots of time, captured on canvas can only be truly experienced once in a life time - every moment is precious.
