Corporate Social Responsibility

We at Drogheda Port Company recognise our role within our local community, liaising with our employees, port users, the community and public at large. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) vision is to improve quality of life by supporting employment generation and all its downstream social benefits, education, community events, sports and a myriad of arts.

The company continues to support a number of CSR activities, some of which are now popular annual events, the key ones being;

     Patients, Drogheda Homeless Aid to name a few.

We are very proud of the company’s activities in this regard and will continue to quietly support, year on year, a wide range of CSR activities in our community.

Drogheda Sail Training Bursary

Established in 2013 by Drogheda Port Company and Sail Training Ireland this bursary is the first scheme of its kind in Ireland. The purpose is to allow local teenagers the opportunity to experience an adventure that often has a profound effect on their outlook on life and allows them to reach their full potential. It inspires a good working ethic, motivation, confidence, resilience, a sense of adventure, and in some cases new maritime-career horizons. 

The sponsors of the Bursary are Irish Cement Limited, Louth County Council, Drogheda Port Company, Fast Terminals Limited & Boskalis Irish Dredging

The Boyne Swim

Since its inception in 2014 this event has grown hugely in popularity. It is now on the National Open Water Calendar alongside the well-established Liffey, Lee & Dun Laoghaire Harbour Swims and attracts the top open water swimmers in the country. The annual swim stretches 2.7km starting at Mell, west of Drogheda town centre and finishes Southeast of the famous Viaduct Bridge. This event is open to wetsuit and non-wetsuit swimmers and has both senior and junior prize categories.

For a number of years Drogheda Port Company hosted the Irish Maritime Festival

The Tall Ships

The Tall Ships visited Drogheda Port.
