The Transport Council of the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland were this week in Drogheda holding a National Transport Policy meeting. The visit was hosted by Drogheda Port Company who gave a detailed presentation to the Council on the company’s future development plans both in Drogheda and the new Deepwater Port at Bremore.
The council visit was headed by CCI Chief Executive Mr John Dunne who was very supportive of the company’s plans to address the national capacity deficit in port infrastructure and view the ports plan for a new deepwater port at Bremore as contributing substantially to the national transport infrastructure.
The Transport council is primarily concerned with the national roads infrastructure, public transport and the ports. Chief among its priorities is the tracking the roll-out of the transport projects under the National Development Plan (NDP).
Drogheda Port Chief Executive, Mr Paul Fleming, welcomed the council to Drogheda for the first time and welcomed their strong endorsement of the companys development plans.
