Drogheda Port Company today announce that it will commence an open competitive process for a joint venture partner for the development of its Bremore Deepwater Port.
The company is one of Irelands most progressive Semi State multi modal Ports, handling 1.3million tonnes annually.
Following consistent traffic growth at Drogheda Port and having identified future shortfalls in unitised port infrastructure for our customers and the Irish shipping industry, we have carried out extensive feasibility studies in conjunction with our consultants, Goodbody Stockbrokers, Matheson Ormsby Prentice and Baxter Eadie UK Ltd, which has culminated in our completed business plan to develop a new deep-water port facility at Bremore, County Fingal in the Greater Dublin Area.
The new deep-water port location is on Irelands east coast central shipping corridor with direct motorway access to the key Irish markets, north and south. The port will operate on a flexible 24 hour 7 day basis.
In January 2006, Drogheda Port Company in conjunction with its advisors will commence an open competitive process for a joint venture partner for this major port development.
Some background project details can be found on our website at www.droghedaport.ie
