Drogheda Port Company has commenced an open competitive process for a joint venture partner to co-develop Irelands new deep-water Port at Bremore Co Fingal, in the Greater Dublin Area. The project will be one of Ireland’s largest and most vital infrastructural projects in the next few years.
Ireland, as Europe’s fastest growing economy, has seen its east coast ports grow freight volumes at 6.5% per annum over the last 15 years. This rapid growth has resulted in congestion and created a need for substantial additional capacity over the coming decade.
Drogheda Port Company operates one of Ireland’s most progressive semi-state multi-modal ports. The company is progressing what is the last greenfield deep-water port opportunity on the east coast of Ireland. With an estimated project cost in the order of €200 million the port will have an initial capacity of up to 10 million tonnes throughput.
Drogheda Port Company in conjunction with its advisors, Goodbody Corporate Finance and Matheson Ormsby Prentice are now inviting interested parties to request an information pack and pre-qualification questionnaire, which must be returned on or before 5.00pm on 10th March 2006.
