Kick Up the Arts
Modern Love perform on the Boyne!
Kick up the Arts, an initiative of the Department of Tourism and supported by Louth County Council, was a very cool music series of live concerts and performances that took place in many unique venues in Louth during 2022. One such event was a performance onboard the Drogheda sail-training vessel Brian Boru by the upcoming local and super talented band ‘Modern Love’. The special gig was a surprise and teased in advance without giving away the details of the band or special stage. The Brian Boru sailed up the river Boyne with the band performing for the growing crowds along the river bank.
The boat provided the perfect open stage for this 4 piece indie-pop band from Drogheda. The band could be seen and heard from both sides of the river where people gathered in large numbers in the lovely June sunshine to enjoy the free performance. Drogheda Port Company, Drogheda Sail training Bursary and Dublin Under Sail (Brian Boru) were delighted to support this event.
